Description

Our most popular sidewall style and the style we typically recommend, cathedral window sidewalls not only look great, but allow a nice amount of light into the interior.

How to determine how many sidewalls you need:
For a fully enclosed tent, add up the total length of the perimeter of the tent. For example, a 20×40 tent needs 6 20′ sidewalls total: 1 each for the 20′ sides, and 2 each for the 40′ sides. A 10×20 tent needs 4 sidewalls, 2 10′ sidewalls and 2 20′ sidewalls.

Here are some pointers when considering sidewalls:

  • Reserving sidewalls: Many clients ask us if they can add sidewalls at the last minute based on the weather forecast. The answer is yes, but then you run the risk of our sidewalls being sold out by the time you ask for them. For smaller events, it’s probably ok to take your chances and wait until you know if you really need them or not. For major events like weddings, our recommendation is to reserve enough sidewalls to cover three sides of the tent just in case. They’re not very expensive, and then you have peace of mind and can wait until the delivery date to see what the weather is like and decide whether or not you want us to install them.
  • Sidewalls in the warmer months: We do not generally recommend fully enclosed tents with sidewalls on all four sides in the warmer months as it will get hot inside the tent and air conditioning tents is not practical in most situations. Instead, use sidewalls on no more than three sides of the tent in the summer, primarily for privacy or to cover unsightly views from the tent.
  • Window sidewalls in the colder months: Sorry, we do not allow use of window sidewalls if the weather is forecasted to drop below freezing. The clear vinyl windows can crack in the cold.
  • Wind caution: Do not use sidewalls with the intention of protecting the interior of the tent from wind. Sidewalls significantly reduce the maximum wind speed that a tent can safely withstand and if wind gusts climb above 30 MPH, all sidewalls will need to be completely removed from the tent for safety.
  • Rain protection: Sidewalls can provide some additional protection from rain. However in warmer months, we recommend covering only the windward side(s) of the tent with sidewalls so that the wind doesn’t blow rain into the tent while leaving the rest of the tent open so it stays nice and cool.
  • 7′ tall sidewalls: Fits pole tents of all sizes, as well as frame tents 20×30 or smaller.
  • 8′ tall sidewalls: Fits high peak tents of all sizes, as well as frame tents 20×40 and larger.
  • Popup sidewalls: We do not offer sidewalls for popup tents.
