Frame tents, technically known as West Coast Frame Tents, feature a metal frame under the tent top that maintains the shape of the tent and provides added rigidity. This frame allows them to be set up on a variety of surfaces including grass, asphalt, concrete, brick, and stone. Additionally, frame tents do not require center poles for support which provides more unobstructed space inside the tent. Due to their heavy duty construction, frame tents are well suited as cold weather tents and for long-term installations.
